Reusable Makeup Pads
As much fun as it is to give ourselves a makeover, the waste that follows the make-up removal (cotton pads and Q-tips) is not so good for the environment. Although disposable makeup wipes may sound good, they are not eco-friendly. Luckily for us, there are tons of reusable makeup pads & sponges currently on the market. Cleaning them is super easy, just use soapy water or read the label, as some are even machine washable!
We highly recommend swapping out those single-use plastic razors for a reusable razor. Why buy a new disposable razor every time the blade wears down when there is a more sustainable option that will save you $$ in the long run and help the environment? Every disposable plastic razor contributes to the global plastic waste crisis so, by using a reusable razor, we are helping to reduce the production of virgin plastic. You can also buy razors made with bamboo handles and recycled plastic.
We all start our mornings much the same way by brushing those pearly whites. And while some of us may prefer an electric toothbrush to the dentist freebie, there’s one thing they both have in common—plastic! In the US, over 1 billion toothbrushes are discarded and end up in landfill every year. Fortunately, there is an alternative and it’s called the bamboo brush. We like this toothbrush because its 100% biodegradable, and it ships in recyclable packaging.
There’s nothing we love more than a sustainable smile! Flossing doesn’t have to be wasteful, especially when there are bio-degradable options out there. If that’s not enough, there are floss options thoughtfully sourced, made from soothing coconut oils—which sound a whole lot nicer than the floss you get from the dentist. There are also refillable floss cases, which eliminate plastic use even more. It’s a win-win! As we brush & floss every day, let’s think about ways we can help our planet and be less wasteful.
